John L. Shermyen is the Founder and former Chief Executive Officer of LogistiCare, the nation’s leading Medicaid non-emergency transportation management solution. Mr. Shermyen now serves as the Chief Strategy Officer for Providence Service Corporation, LogistiCare's parent company.
As an executive with more than 20 years of management experience, Mr. Shermyen is recognized as a visionary for his entrepreneurial style and bold approach to business. In 2003, he was recognized with the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award® in the Business and Technology Services Category for the Southeast region.

Although a geographer by education, Mr. Shermyen acquired a unique skill for software development and created a proprietary package specifically for non-emergency transportation. Mr. Shermyen’s state-of-the-art system, LogistiCAD™, integrates all transportation management tasks: scheduling, routing, eligibility verification, call center management, vendor compliance tracking, reporting and payment processing. It is a system that manages over 4 million calls and 18 million trips annually.
Mr. Shermyen holds both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in geography and computer cartography from the University of Florida.
